the seven sins: pride, envy, anger, sloth, gluttony, avarice, lechery

uros sanjevic is a serbian artist whose works can be read as sharp observations of his social environment. the installation "the seven sins: pride, envy, anger, sloth, gluttony, avarice, lechery" is dealing with the contradiction of ideal and real christian values.

"today’s world very easily comes to the contradiction of ideals and believes. this sculpture consists of 7 trophies (rewards) locked in the cage.

the title seven sins give the suggestion that they are rewards for sins or they are sins. this sculpture was created to represent the fact that today each one of the sins are read as a virtue and they are not morally condemned by the very same people who promote christian values." (artist's statement)
