magazine king solo exhibition
"the voice-ooh show"

magazine king is an engineering instrument inventor and musician. the instruments in his solo exhibition "the voice-ooh show" are a hommage to an era when musicians, engineers and programmers spent endless time and efforts to present new instruments and devices using the midi standard that came out in the beginning of the 1980s. regarding aesthetics of sound, the instruments are inspired by early technologies like wavetable synthesis that tried to imitate the human voice – but sounded somehow artificial. in opposition to today's complex computer based music production devices, his works are built in a d.i.y. spirit with more simple technologies.

on the opening night magazine king will demonstrate instruments such as drum robots and a minimized pipe organ built with an air compressor and recorders in a concert.

no entrance fee.
