ESCHATON PUSHES THEATER BOUNDARIES

the curated crowd funding platform wemakeit.ch went offline with MEET THE MAKERS at PLATOON KUNSTHALLE and brought you creative projects driven by passionate initiators. one of them, Felix Schäfer, is working on the project Eschaton that expands the frames of theater and zigzags between various artistic expressions. on the 12th and 13th of July the KUNSTHALLE will serve as background when the captivating world of Eschaton comes to life.

we’ve asked Felix about the project:

Q: what kind of project are you searching funding for and can you tell us about the idea behind the initiative?

A: the idea is to connect the latest multimedia performance technology with classical theatre, musical and dance. I also want to give creatives a platform to collaborate with people they would usually not have the chance to collaborate with.

Q: how was the offline crowd-funding event at PLATOON KUNSTHALLE for you? have you been able to sense an interest in your project from supporters?

A: it was a great experience. when people come up to you and ask questions, the project goes to the next level. you realize very quickly which questions are easy to answer and which are difficult, and those areas you have to work on. I loved that people from all different areas of interest came up to me. a ten-year-old boy was interested in the amazing multimedia effects and others were interested in the political story.

Q: what kind of treats do you have in store for your supporters when they choose to contribute to your project online?

A: from a ticket for you and your date, to a behind the scenes tour, up to your own personal show for you and your friends.

Q: what kind of reactions have you experienced among your friends and backers? what is their view on your project and crowd funding as financial medium?

A: people are interested in the concept of crowd funding. it is still fairly new, especially in Germany, so people are a bit hesitant.

Q: what actions are you planning in order to boost your campaign?

A: well, I am trying to send it to as many people as I can and try to use social networking. It is difficult, because everyone uses it to push his or her own projects, but it is still a great tool.

we cannot wait to see the results!

you can still support the project here and thereby help contribute to tell the story of a place called Gnosa and its inhabitants.
