PLATOON ARTIST LAB VERNISSAGE
TOKYO DATA COLLECTIVE

as the final result of PLATOON ARTIST LAB residency Tokyo Data Collective will present their latest project Silla. it is an interactive mixed-media installation showing an artistic interpretation of various data sets on a large lighted floating structure.

Silla animates itself in an organic manner. the feeling of immersion will be enhanced by avant-garde sound design and traditional musical elements.

Silla aims to stimulate curiosity and consciousness towards our living environment through an artistic interpretation of statistics regarding the world we live in and its evolution. the project will evolve over a period of one year, taking new shapes every time it is being fed up with new informations.

Tokyo Data Collective's transdisciplinary work is inspired by a vision where the contemporary urban environment is more than a simple space devoted to everyday life, aiming to create a reaction from the public with its integration in the creation process. with this approach, the collective tries to challenge the contemplative role traditionally attributed to the audience and expresses its ethical and aesthetic questioning, with political and social issues to be found at its core.
