cho sung hoon

painter cho sung hoon finds a catchy and humorous way of depicting the multitude of "ego" and what he calls "monodrama", one's fight with conflicting counterparts within oneself. the result of this conflict often remains open thus emphasizing the process of negotiation between multiple egos.

"all my work is acryl painted in color on canvas. the main theme is “ego”. inside me, there is “ego”. this ego cannot be understood separately, it already has its form as a multiple ego, it is an independent being created through experience, not through separation or reproduction. the "i" in the present is the result of numerous competition among the many egos. to mirror this inner self, monodrama seemed to be a good way. with this monodrama, I want to express the process and result of doubt and also the form and nature of ego by showing the problems of the self, or the development process and the result of self-doubts."
